Club Mechanical Upgrades
Club America reports that repairs are underway on the facility’s solar system that provides heat to the pool water. When the system is operating at full capacity, we see decreased propane usage. A new air handler and heater for the pool has been installed and is operational. In addition, the Club installed a new energy efficient furnace and added heating ducts to the lobby and hall. Other improvements were made to improve the ventilation on the gym side of the building. It is hoped that these major repairs will forestall any future pool closings or other reductions in services offered by the Club to the community. Other building maintenance challenges loom which CAWMV hopes to tackle in the coming year: purchase and install high efficiency boilers to heat the pool water when the sun is not shining, and LED lighting throughout the club.
We want to be as green as possible. Many of these improvements were made possible because of generous donations from forward thinking community members. If you are interested in helping reduce Club America's carbon footprint, please send an email to custer2020@gmail.com.
